ABOUT
Hill Barrett first began as a travel business in up-country Kenya in the 1950's selling steamship passages to Europe. It operated a remote tourist lodge on Lake Turkana's western shores which became a dream destination for travelers seeking an uncharted experience. The company merged with Ivory Safaris, and Hill Barrett converted Ivory Safaris from a hunting enterprise to a wildlife photography safari company, supporting anti-poaching and anti-hunting initiatives. The company both welcomed safari travelers into East Africa as well as arranging trips outbound for Kenyans to explore worldwide. In 1998, Hill Barrett moved to the Seattle area and has been handling custom designed trips for a select set of clients ever since.
